Seattle has a tendency to make a lot of teams look like that though. I just wouldn't draw too many conclusions based on that particular game.

Green Bay should still have every reason to think they can win the NFC, especially if Seattle doesn't have home field. Now if the Lions make Green Bay look pathetic . . .

# 59 on GB defense needs to stop making obvious holds on receivers...

game was competitive for a while but bone-head penileties extenze drives...

I still think they're players in the mix to win the NFC, but as you pointed out, they will obviously need some more breaks. We were hoping this would be a team that could reach the Super Bowl via any path. They are probably just a team that can reach it if they get home field (at least against Seattle, and probably SF too) or if someone else knocks out Seattle (or probably SF). There are a lot of weeks to get better though. Then again, they'll also need to get, for lack of superior word, better-er than we thought they would.

The Packers had to start four different quarterbacks last year and saw Rodgers, Matthews, Cobb, Finley, Lacy, and most of the offensive line miss time due to injury, yet still won the division last year. Until someone else actually wins it, I won't consider it a possibility. There's a reason this team is tied with New England for the longest active streak of playoff appearances. Tonight proved Seattle is still better than them, but like Chris pointed out, Seattle is probably better than everybody right now. Until the Bears or Lions win a game against the Packers where Rodgers makes it to the second half (the Packers are 19-2 in games Rodgers doesn't leave with an injury against those two), I'm not worried about them not winning the NFC North.

I remember saying all the way back to after Week 2 of last season that the Broncos' Super Bowl chances were shot when they lost Ryan Clady for the year. At that moment of desperation I didn't think they'd get as far as they did...but ultimately I was dead on right. :( GB may be in the same boat if they're still having O-line problems. Poor Bulaga just can't stay healthy. Is Derek Sherrod a flat out bust?

So underrated. He must have really inflated Josh Freeman's draft status when they were at K-State.

The defense played way better than it had any right to today.

The offense is a fucking disaster. They look like a 6-10 team right now. The play calling is just terrible.

Nah, the defense was garbage too. It's hard to make Reggie Bush look that effective.

But yeah, the offense struggling is alarming, especially considering all the DB injuries Detroit had and that all 11 defenders on the field were wearing Lions jerseys.

They gave the offense every chance to make up for their mistakes and win the game. That's more than I expect from the defense.

Two things.......

This Lions fan is shocked we got the W today. Smoke and mirrors. I still don't see us winning >7.

Can you blame Rodgers for this? He still wins when he goes home.
