The dotu sessions seem to be a very cool and creative moment for the band, and also a very destructive one.

Specially for Kim, he talks about not really writting something for that album.

They weren't on the same page, and they started the recording sessions thinking they were doing demos, only to realize they were actually recording a new album. Then they fought a lot about the direction of the band, and then they cut songs at the very end. I've always wondered if there were any other songs left over besides the two b-sides and "Christi".

My guess would be "Attrition", just because it reminds me a lot of "Never Named", and because it doesn't really sound like the other songs (of course, it's a Ben song, so it wouldn't anyway). I could be totally wrong, though.

I think it was something like Blood on the valley floor or A thousand days before.

God I wish these guys would hire me to put together a DOTU reissue. I would put together something awesome that anybody who loves Soundgarden would really enjoy.

It probably won't ever happen, though.
The demos and rehearsals on the Superunknown reissue have had a lot of replay value for me. I think I would also prefer a DOTU reissue to a Badmotorfinger one, but based on the Superunknown package I think a BMF one would be great too.

The value of the BMF release would be in the remix/remaster of the album itself.

The value of the DOTU release would be in the demos and non-album tracks.

Both would rule. :bammer:

Yeah, BMF needs a remaster.

God, Soundgarden is such a cool band.

I just saw the trailer for A Walk Among the Tombstones - any idea who's doing the god-awful cover of Black Hole Sun?

BMF's production is certainly of its time but a straight remaster will almost certainly only make it sound louder (and worse). A remix could be an interesting prospect, providing it's done well.

I don't have any huge issues with the production as it stands; it's preferable to King Animal's tubby murk, fond as I am of some of the songs on the latter.

The drums on BMF are totally disappointing.

What should we expect out of an acoustic set at Bridge School?

This will be interesting.

Here's a stab at what I think would work well:

4th of July
Black Hole Sun (almost a guarantee they'll play this?)
Blood On the Valley Floor
Bones of Birds
Burden In My Hand
Fell On Black Days (man I hope so)
Halfway There
Like Suicide
Outshined (maybe?)
Rowing
Rusty Cage (a la Johnny Cash?)
The Day I Tried to Live

Take your pick from Cornell's solo material...

Just looking through the Soundgarden catalog I don't know if there's a ton that works acoustically. Will be interesting...

Plus some Temple Of the Dog material....

Blood on the valley floor? 4th of july? MM i dont think those two can translate good ....im expecting Zero chance of course.

Although, i dont think they will go acoustic at all. Kim? Acoustic? Thats for pussies like Pearl Jam.

I cant picture 4th Of July translating well to an acoustic setting, but I wouldnt mind seeing them try it.

Well...maybe not that song.

Don't they kinda have to go acoustic? Isn't that the whole thing with Bridge School? I have never been.

I've never been either but I certainly get the impression that playing acoustically is part of the whole Bridge School deal.

I'm sure it'll be an acoustic set of some sort, I'd very surprised if they went near any Cornell solo or Temple of the Dog material - the latter would be much more likely during Pearl Jam's set, I'd imagine.
