He's just one of those Cruise effect actors..minute you see him you go 'oh nooo' and lose interest in the film..

and I didnt even hate him cos of what he did in the film(poor ryan) but just dont rate him or find him to be any use at his job..he plays everything the same way. Zero range zero charisma, other than that smug self satisfied bleugh eminating from his ugly mush..

i liked the film overall though
see, now you got me started

I was joking because you said Ryan Reynolds.

Also, I love Ryan Gosling.

I watched Transcendence last night and was pleasantly surprised. Sure, it's deeply flawed - the narrative needed a tighter focus and the themes needed more development and efficiency - but the film is full of fascinating ideas and, in visual terms, it looks as though it came out in 1997, which I mean in the best way. It made me very happy to see that there are still SOME filmmakers that know how to make a movie look that way.

Movies looked different then. Everything was shot on film, and there were none of the overexposure problems with exterior shooting that are all over movies now. I just love the visual atmosphere of '90s movies.

Yes, exactly. Perhaps 1997 was a weirdly specific way to put it.

watching The Suspect right now.

this is the kind of non stop action movie i love. Asians know how to do 'em. i can't think of one Hollywood action movie that can stand up to these movies.

oh, and i think they might have their own Wilhelm Scream. :haha:

Enemies Closer. Truly insane, crazy, and weird, with Jean-Claude Van Damme going full-on as a fanatically vegan villain. Killer fight scenes, too - full of brutality and personality. Some of the most fun I've had watching a movie in a while.

Ali: Fear Eats the Soul. The movie took a very bizarre, challenging turn in the second half that's going to take me some time to process, but I'm pretty sure I just watched a masterpiece. Why the hell did I put off watching Fassbinder for so long?
