Yeah Pitt is usually pretty solid, IMO, nothing to be embarrassed about. Same w/ Casey Affleck--Jesse James was superb but also liked him in Gone Baby Gone. Oh and yeah, getting pumped for Interstellar, too.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Who's laughing? Pitt kicks ass.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Also, one of my favorite Brad Pitt performances. Another worry of mine: it will be some "cosmic force" that they encounter as life on another planet that will f*ck everything up. And I'm also hoping it isn't "scary monster" aliens. How about a humanoid-like being that they might be able to communicate with? Sigh.

Totally agree with this. I am so tired of that in sci-fi movies. The recent Europa Report was one of the most annoying examples. Why do sci-fi movies so consistently feel the need to connect space exploration with death, disaster, and horror? That's messed up.E.H. From the trailers, it seems like this movie is going to go in the opposite direction, though. I hope.

Yeah but contact had exactly three minutes of alien interaction and it took the form of her dad. I want a little more than that from a three hour movie that is going to have alien contact.dimejinky99 wrote:Contact and Cocoon...

Also, I agree with LV, Europa Report could have done it a little better.

I mean.
Do you actually see this as even remotely turning out to be a scary monster movie?
