Brilliant song. The first part is great the second half even better.
I was 100% convinced this was a stone song at first. But I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff or Ed wrote it after numerous listens.

I would be suprised it this was a Jeff tune. He writes differently, in other tunings.Got Some wrote:Brilliant song. The first part is great the second half even better.

This sounds a lot like an Eddie song.
CC is most likely a Stone song

Eh. I really think CC is ed song. That tone and guitar definitely sounds like ed's tele setup. Its basically just a song around a coupel chords too.joostone wrote:I would be suprised it this was a Jeff tune. He writes differently, in other tunings.Got Some wrote:Brilliant song. Yeah, I'd be almost certain that Cold Confession is an Ed song. It's clearly his guitar part leading the song off and it's a lot more representative of his writing style than anyone else's in the band.
Let It Ride strikes me as being either a Jeff or Stone jam - I'd wager it's definitely not either Ed or Mike, in any case, as it doesn't sound remotely like anything I'd expect them to come up with.
I'm listening to Let it Ride right now for the first time since it surfaced (the awful quality makes it too tough to enjoy regularly, unfortunately) and I'm reminded about how great a song it is. I genuinely like these two outtakes better than anything on the finished record.

Re: new (old) song: Let it Ride
If I had to put money on it, I would actually say Let it Ride is a Matt song. The chord progression in the verse is just odd enough to feel like Matt to me.. though I would not be shocked if it was a Stone song. Maybe a Matt/Stone combo. 10% Jeff. Definitely not Mike or Ed.
CC is Ed, 0% doubt on that one. The main guitar part is clearly Ed, and that is what the rest of the song stems from.
Agree that both of these are better than anything on the record, which with most bands would be baffling, not with Pearl Jam.
