Basically I'm trying to savor the experience as best I can.

Bioshock is stunningly beautiful and fun to play. I really wasn't buying into the hype of theses reviews, but I have to say, they are spot on so far.

The greatest game of all time. Oddly enough, it isn't even close. You owe it to yourselves to play it as soon as possible. Here are a few screenshots I took in 1920x1080 and max settings on PC, spoiler free. They're kinda big, but whatever.

Came across this quote on reddit:
"Upon my hours of reeling over the story I realized that this game is really not just a game, but one of the most beautiful and moving pieces of art I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing (...) There are no words that can truly describe how I feel about this game, there really aren't any. A game like this is what helps me escape my world that sometimes feels like its crumbling in on me, and to know that Columbia is always waiting for me, fills my heart with a joy I hadn't in my life known. It sounds overdramatic, sure, but in all honesty there has been no emotional response greater than the one to this game for me. It still has me thinking and examining every aspect of it to this very moment, almost a full 24 hours after beating it."

So yeah, this game is fucking incredible.

I'm not sure if that was sarcasm, but this game feels like it could belong in that conversation. It's pretty fucking amazing.

I'm really enjoying Bioshock Infinite. I've been in love with the series since the Bioshock demo in 07 and this really does feel like the pinnacle of gaming so far.

Should I play the first two Bioshock games before hitting up the new one?

No need. They are great games, but this one really has nothing to do with the others from what I have played so far. This game is a masterpiece. Play it now! In fact I think the game might even be better if you never played the others. The feel of Bioshock would be really cool to experience for the first time in this game.

I don't have a PS3 yet! lol But I'm considering it as a game to grab as soon as I get it.

I'll echo what the other guys have said, ST, but if you're going to start with Infinite then you should play 1 and 2 in order after that. They're still phenomenal pieces of art.

Am I right in hearing that the PS3 version comes with Bioshock 1 on the disc as well?

Oh shit, you're definitely someone I'd like to talk to about the story. Avoid any and all discussion of it until you've completed it.

I was going to wait a bit to buy Infinite, but screw it, I just bought it.
