I heard moments that called to mind Yield, Riot Act, and S/T the most, but it didn't feel like any of those albums. No PJ album really repeats any other, imo.

I believe stip that this is legit, although it has the feel of something that was completely invented (even down to the "let's throw in Cold Concession from that interview, just so it seems more legit").

Hard to really feel any thoughts one way or the other as of yet, though.

this is actually a huge part of why i love new albums so much. love the entire process that usually starts with someone describing the songs like this, picturing it in my head and later matching that with reality. today felt like pj xmas, with the single on time and everything.

With the Mad Season reissue coming up, I've been listening to that material again for the first time in ages - Mike was really wailing on those songs, I really hope revisiting that era has bled into his work on the new Pearl Jam record a little.

There really is a loose, organic and emotional approach/feel to that period of his playing. SOmething that has been mostly missing since.....
