Of course you can hear the crowd on other live releases. But it's much more ambient, it's background noise to remind you that this was once a live concert event. It's all pushed back.

What is great about this single (I think, and I don't want to speak for Stip and Broken Iris, but I think they're saying the same thing) is that the crowd is a part of the song. It's in the forefront. Those voices pull you in and help you feel a part of this in a way that none (or very few) of their other liver recordings do.

I agree. Getting the right audio mix between the subtle elements of the performance and the energy of the crowd is tough, but it seems like they were able to get it just right for this track and captured an emotional response from the audience that elevated a kinda cliche song choice.
Exactly. Very well said.

The PJ Holiday single is again comprised of at least 50% non-PJ

RM Sociobots anticipate additional future county-fair-quality cover performances of tired pop anthems by EV and/or that band that occasionally stands around EV while he is drinking wine and reading lyrics from sheets of looseleaf paper

Ed hates war, and increased pressure by the DOJ on Swiss banks to release information on US account holders

the Live at the Jorge box set will be released at Tower Records on Tuesday

Posted to the official PJ Instagram account today is a photo of Boom at the racetrack wearing a shirt, but no pants. The shirt is just long enough to cover his genitals, when he is not moving and/or the wind is not blowing.
All posts by this account, even those referencing real things, are entirely fictional and are for entertainment purposes only; i.e. very low-quality entertainment. These may contain coarse language and due to their content should not be viewed by anyone

Just got back from taking the step-kids up the mountain. Had a listen to this. Not at all bad - I'm pretty happy to be getting this as part of the fan club single. Still not as good as the APC cover however...

A tender solo rendition of Balls Reign O'er Me, with a perfectly captured audience song-a-long in the second half that really makes it work by allowing you to not hear quite as much Eddie Vedder.

I love it cause it's a beautiful moment. A beautiful song. And I love hearing eds voice which,
At his best, conveys vulnerability like no other to me.

Not a huge fan of Imagine but liked Ed's version of it.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.
