did you ever hear the story of how it was re-issued by criterion? as i've heard it, soderbergh and buscemi cross paths in central park. they're both hanging out at the site where the movie was shot. and soderbergh asks buscemi what he was doing in central park. and buscemi replies that one of his favorite movies was filmed here. and they decided to push for criterion to pick it up. the end.

Argo popped up on the netflix que. When pitched who expected 1 part Hollywood satire + 2 parts spy drama would turn out to be a pretty good movie? I was surprised how tense and well paced their escape sequence was; good directing and editing job. One of Affleck's better on-screen performances (check out Hollywoodland if you have not) and the haircut/beard wasn't nearly as distracting as I thought it would be. Was it the best movie released last year? I don't know but it's an above average flick that should be watched at least once if you have even a passing interest in film.
Who'd thunk John Goodman would have supporting roles in back to back Academy adeemed Best Pictures?

It was cute enough. Not Pixar level or anything but decent. A lot of the action sequences were obviously stolen from The Incredibles. And I really wasn't impressed with the trailer for Monsters University.
