Thanks - hadn't perused the thread in a while, and forgot it was discussed.
I'll check 'em out from work tomorrow, if it's a slow day.

Do the recent events in Ferguson have any bearing on whether or not WMA gets played?Monkey_Driven wrote:Odds of the band playing WMA in some capacity this night?
Is it still safe to travel to STL by the way?

It will linger in the St. Louis area for years. The officer who shot the kid has still yet to be seen or heard from.Bammer wrote:Do the recent events in Ferguson have any bearing on whether or not WMA gets played?Monkey_Driven wrote:Odds of the band playing WMA in some capacity this night?

So I am seeing people selling their Cardinals (potential) playoff tickets for as little as $55 each on Craigslist.
That, my friends, is very encouraging.

I have lived in St. Louis my whole life. My two cents:
For the golfer, I agree with the Forest Park suggestion based on what you are looking for. They have three 9 hole courses there. I would highly recommend not playing Hawthorne. Its as flat and straight as they come. The other two are better in my opinion.
No one needs to worry about safety with the Ferguson thing. Just stay out of Ferguson (which is a small area), everywhere else is the same as its always been. (North city is bad, and ferguson is in that general direction, just a little further out.)
Hotels: kind of depends on how nice you want. theres the drury, the double tree, and the pear tree which are close and on the cheaper side. Four seasons, the Renaissance, the hilton at the ball park, and crown plaza are little nicer. All are prob not much more than a $5-$8 cab ride.
And if anyone wants to drink before the concert I will be hanging out at Maggie O'Briens with a group of about 10 concert goers. Not St. Louis's finest bar but it will do the job considering it is a block from the venue.

I'll probably hit up Maggie O'Briens too. I haven't really hung out by Scottrade too many times but I can't recall there being too many bars in the area besides that one.jab21 wrote:I have lived in St. Louis my whole life. My two cents:

My Dad has a sudden illness, I have 10c tix that are not for sale, but have 2 brothers trying to sell their tix if someone is interested...just dont have an idea of location right now - if you are just wanting to get in, find a way to contact me.
Given my Dad's recent illness, hoping to hear Release as an opener

Sweet. Have a good flight. What are your plans for tonight in STL? Might be a tad rainy.Bammer wrote:Planning to meet up with M_D preshow at Maggies if it works out. I got your cell # in my cell. Will text you. Flight from SEA leaves in an hour.

Just landed. Nasty out here. I think they had to alter the flight plan slightly.
Looking up for tomorrow weather wise.
Tonight... Beers and football on tv somewhere near the hotel and toasted ravioli if we find it easily.
Pappy's tomorrow -> Oktoberfest -> Maggies -> Rock out with my cock out

If I were a betting man, I'd say this one is going to be a 180 from last night's.

So you're saying I should have opted for those behind-the-stage seats after all?broken iris wrote:If I were a betting man, I'd say this one is going to be a 180 from last night's.
