how so? the last word i would use to describe it would be generic. it sounded to me like it had something for everyone (granted that could be your problem with it), but it worked, imo.

After a few listens its growing on me. QOTSA have always sounded better in the studio to me, so i'm looking forward to the album cut.

What do we think of the new drummer guy? He seemed pretty good, but I can't help but notice he does not hit as hard as Joey.

What sets them apart? I don't follow the band closely enough to know any shortcomings Joey may have had. I wonder why he left...

Joey is a good drummer but Jon is streets ahead. Joey struggled with some aspects of older Queens material, Jon is much more refined in terms of technique and is already looking very promising based on that first performance in Brazil. Jon is always completely on time, creates more in terms of fills and has an incredible right foot. Not to mention that his first show with the band was in front of thousands of people. No secret club show warm ups for this guy. What a professional.

I still love Joey, though.

Jon NAILED the intro to A Song For The Dead in that first show. Not one beat out of place. Incredible.

Yeah, I was never that big of a fan of Joey. Glad they have someone new. Can't wait to hear how that song sounds on record with Dave.
