Biggest Pearl Jam Fan?

Post by Bammer »

Tabulating this in terms of someone who enjoys the whole catalog, knows all the history of the band, collects memorabilia, familiar with lyrics, goes to a lot of shows, spends time reading up on PJ online, has tattoos, gets obsessed sometimes, etc. etc. etc.

Who is the biggest PJ fan you know...

IN EVERYDAY, REAL LIFE: Me. Definitely. I don't know anyone else who loves PJ as much as I do and I am often called crazy because of it. "You're going to two concerts in the same month? You're crazy."

ON RM: Not me. Not even close. I would say Stip, maybe? Even then, Stip probably doesn't even scratch the surface of some of those crazies over on the official forum. But in terms of the biggest RM'er PJ fan, I might have to go with Stip. Congrats(?) buddy.

Sasha Grey seems to be a fan of Pearl Jam.

Stip dislikes too much of No Code and Binaural to be the biggest PJ fan on RM.

I'm probably in the running for the biggest fan of the last two albums, though

Yeah, some of the things you've written about Riot Act absolutely disqualify you for this honor.

Stip and Release_Me are definitely the biggest fans of everything that sucks about Pearl Jam.

The only real life pj fans I know are of the "I liked Ten but they sucked after that" variety, and I think they all died of old age.

I think it's easier to just see who's the biggest ;). I'm not. I don't know the lyrics well enough, have no complete collection, not a single poster framed, and no tattoo. If those are the standards.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

The fact is, post-Riot Act Pearl Jam gets way too beat up on RM. S/T is a really good album. Backspacer, while being my least favorite Pearl Jam album, is still really solid and enjoyable, and Lightning Bolt is fantastic.

And Stip is one of the very few that has no problem sticking up for the band and admitting that there is still a lot to love about what they do. So good on him. Strat, too.

I wish I liked the last 3 PJ albums as much as you do. I rank them pretty low, not just in the PJ canon but music in general.
