So, who's feeding Jorge this baseball knowledge? Is someone sending him posts to copypasta into this thread?

That would be fucking awesome. I'd have to adjust my spreadsheet though.

Just copy each 30 game section onto a separate page, then make sheet 5 the cumulative totals.

Nah, I'd just extend it down and add to the totals formulas.

By wRC+, Ruth is first at 197, Williams is second at 188, and then things bunch up a 173 and under. Based on those fairly substantial gaps, I would be comfortable with Ruth #1, Williams #2 and then several players in contention for #3.

Although... Williams did miss three years in the prime of his career. It still boggles my mind to see the kinds of numbers he put up when he came back from the war.

In 1957, 11 years after returning from the war, Teddy put up a slash line of 388/526/731 with an OPS+ of 233.

Teddy, Babe, Bonds, Gehrig, Musial, etc. Again, tough list to make.

Jimmie Foxx is probably in the top 10.

There are 25 seasons in the history of baseball where a player had 11+ fWAR. Ted Williams did it in 1942. Then he spent three years away from baseball because of World War II, then he did it again the year he returned in 1946.

Well... I should probably add: There are four seasons in the history of baseball where a player had 13+ fWAR. Babe Ruth has all of them.

I actually think that Ruth could be underrated, this guy is AT LEAST one of the two best hitters of all time and that's after he was one of the best LHP's in the league for a time.

Nah, I'd just manually adjust the formula for AB of the first hitter in the list and then drag it it to all the other cells.

You need a laptop that includes the tenkey set up on the right of the keyboard.

Numlock off -> 3

I mean its there, actually right about the tenkey, but I would be hitting number lock on and off all day entering this, because I use the ten key anytime im entering numbers.
