Binaural started out being seen as a disappointment, yeah, but those live boots were the best thing the band ever did for that album's reputation. Within weeks of the Euroboots hitting stores, the fanbase was starting to rethink it. Those songs held up really well live, for the most part, and most boots were loaded with Binaural tracks. By the time the American tour boots arrived (these even had bass guitar in them, wowee), the disappointment had pretty much been replaced by either love for the record or a feeling that it was a missed opportunity with some really great songs that weren't captured quite right.

Pretty big accomplishment, considering Ed probably never managed to play the bridge in Insignificance right. :?

Riot Act had more of the 'initial love'/'sagging interest'/'renewed appreciation' story, I think.

People have been saying this for like 5 years now and it hasn't happened.

Not for me it didn't. Those were in heavy rotation for me from the day they came out for years afterward. S/T and on were records I listened to a bunch when they came out and then pretty much stopped entirely.
Guys if he says its not going to happen...

We'll revisit the topic in a year and see if it happened.

I loved "Binaural" from start to finish since I the first time I heard it, and that view hasn't changed. Anybody who doesn't like it, or can't handle the first three songs, is a pansy ass, kiss ass little girl.

Not sure being female is an insult. But anyway...

It's taken until this year for me to really turn around on Binaural. I've always liked it (a few songs I've LOVED since first listen). But it's highs weren't enough to raise it in my rankings. Until this year. For some reason that fucker is clicking big time with me.

Riot Act has been one of my favorite albums since first listen. And it just keeps getting better. There could come a day when it reaches #2 in my overall rankings. There was never any doubt for me that Riot Act is brilliant.

No, I smiled, open-mouthed, like a complete fiend as I nailed Wendy Carlos's Twin's soul to the wall with my hammer.

I also wrote "McP will be the first to respond to this" on a post-it and sealed it in an envelope and gave it to a good friend to hold while I waited for some response. Looks like I AM psychic. Take that Jason Dawson!

Somebody posted a photo of Ed. Somebody else said he looked like a cat in the photo. RM ran with it like a motherf*cker.
