Out of curiosity, is there anyone who wants to stick with 30?

This is a great post.

Roger Clemens has a 9.72 ERA. I really thought I would have a chance to contend because of Halladay and Clemens (considering I have his best season, too) at the top. Halladay has been decent. Clemens has been hammered pretty much every time out.

Jose Bautista has a .630 OPS. I knew I had some weaknesses in my lineup, but I thought the top 4-5 spots would be outstanding. I actually have two regulars who have been worse than that, but I didn't expect a ton out of Gruber and Whitt.
Clemens has been awful for the Astros as well.
Weird.
Are any modern pitchers besides Pedro performing at an above average level?

Im thinking of giving some of the Astros bench players a try tomorrow. Bagwell could use a day off.

How are you compiling BABIP against for pitchers? Are you going into the play by play log to see which pitcher gave up the SFs in each game?

nah, Basically started to do that, decided it was pretty insignificant and it wasnt worth the effort.

Damn, we missed the elusive Clemens v Clemens game by one spot in the rotation. I should have held him back a day.

Sometimes the managing of the pitching staffs by the simulator is absurd. They have guys who have given up 7 runs in 3 innings staying in the game up to 140 pitches.

I think tomorrow against the Yankees I'm going with...

Appling
Fox
Thomas
Jackson
Belle
Weaver
Mostil
Lollar

Weaver has been great at second, but Nellie Fox had a reputation as a Yankee-killer, so I'm hoping he can help me avoid a sweep. Thomas' average is super low (.254), but his OBP is still respectable (.390), plus Dick Allen has been awful. I could give Zeke Bonura a shot, but I need Big Hurt's power in there, especially with Minoso on the bench right now.
