I love 2012. It's Emmerich doing what he does best, which is exploring an Altman-esque tapestry of interwoven, character-based micro-narratives against a backdrop of awesome, mega-scale destruction with a subtle but distinct undercurrent of social/environmental commentary.

now that we're throwing around emmerich/altman comparisons, i'd love to see how emmerich would handle a nashville remake. i think we can all agree it would be called smashville.

Well, Broderick is in Godzilla. And yeah, Cusack is in 2012. I kinda like Cusack though. He seems like a bit of a psychopath.
