I do kind of hate the Trop but like Lament said it seems charming. My buddy lived in Orlando for awhile and loved going to games there. That being said personally I can't stand it but I have never been.

The Rays make the most of their opportunities. They have drafted pretty well the last decade. Getting Longo, Price, Alex Cobb, Shields (16th round!), Jennings (10th round), Crawford of course, etc. They have made some good trades. The one with the Twins that landed Garza and Bartlett comes to mind. Getting Zobrist for Seth McClung as well. Of course they have made some bad moves. NOT drafting Buster Posey who grew up and went to college (FSU) a few hours from Tampa was a head scratcher. But I'm not sure they could have done much better the last decade than they have with what they have to work with.

My issues with them have nothing to do with whether they are good or not.

Oh totally. I feel ya. That ballpark is screwy and their fan base isn't consistent. Just noting personnel wise they do a decent job.

Their fan base is actually remarkable consistent in their willingness to stay away from games.

To the fans of Kansas City and the Kansas City Royals I say, congratulations. You've earned this. I hope you've enjoyed this remarkable ride so far and I hope you still have gallons of spirit left. Amazing.

While, I'm not a big baseball fan myself, I am proud of my city. Proud of my Royals and my heart is overjoyed for those who have bleed royal blue, waiting for this opportunity. I can't imagine the tremendous joy you must be feeling.

My Facebook feed is so awesome right now. One friend talking about how he was born in 1985 (the last time the Royals went to the WS) and his daughter was born this year.

Another friend talking about how his grandfather took him to a WS game back in 85 (my friend was 4 at the time) and now he's buying tickets to take that same grandfather (who is 94 now) back to see his Royals play in the World Series again.

So much joy. Unbelievable. I've never wanted to be a baseball fan this much in my life.
