LV can you make a thread about "Favorite TV Seasons" so I can mention True Detective?

If I were forced to pick one I would go with Monty Python's Flying Circus.

A Bit of Fry & Laurie is up there.

I enjoy how playfully clever they are, but I've never been a huge fan of this show as a whole.theplatypus wrote:A Bit of Fry & Laurie is up there.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents
The Twilight Zone
Monty Python's Flying Circus
South Park
Breaking Bad
Six Feet Under
The Sopranos
The Wonder Years
Twin Peaks
Wallander (BBC)
It hurt to leave FNL, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Black Books and Adventure Time off this list. But for FNL, season 2 was fucking hideous and I realize that living in Odessa for 8 years has a lot to do with my enjoyment of the show. Also, Minka Kelly is possibly the worst actor ever put on screen.
I’m currently making my way through The Wire. And I’m not counting True Detective, The Returned or Broadchurch because they only have one season so far. I also didn’t count Cosmos.

I really wish they'd make this available without the laugh track. It's unwatchable in its current form.turned2black wrote:Black Books

I don't watch much tv, but the wife and I went front to back with The Office and it was highly enjoyable. We are currently working through Game of Thrones and it is very impressive.

1. Mad Men
2. LOST
3. Louie
4. The Wire
5. The Sopranos
Only five shows make it into the absolute top tier. There are single season shows I love, but that's different. Breaking Bad had too many lulls and ended too sepctacularly poorly for me to include it here.

How did I forget Louie?! Jesus. Good call. I'll have to revisit my list.

All-time: Seinfeld
The Office (UK) gets honorable mention, only because it was so short lived
Favorite Current Show: Brooklyn Nine Nine
Favorite Underrated/Forgotten Show: The Loop (Season 1 only)

Seinfeld
Lost
Saved By The Bell
Nothing else immediately comes to mind. Does Game of Thrones count? Put that on there, too.

Oh, and Singled Out (Chris Hardwick is still around, God bless 'im) especially the episode(s) where that really hot dark haired girl replaced Jenny McCarthy. I believe she went by a single name and she was a VJ there for a little while on MTV. She guest-hosted maybe just once or twice. Someone help me out here? I'm not talking about Carmen Electra. And no, it's not Kennedy. I cannot seem to find this chick's name online anywhere.

Man, I gotta watch that soon.Lament wrote:Freaks & Geeks.
Also, My So-Called Life was just unbelievably brilliant television when it dropped. I haven't had a chance to revisit yet to see if it holds up.
