We know how it ends.
stip, I think you see whatever you expect to see.

This thread was largely light-hearted snark with hints of wistful nostalgia - fairly standard RM fare, in other words.

I'm not sure how anyone with an understanding of the dynamic here could honestly think anyone in this thread had an emotional breakdown over a Pearl Jam setlist. You're being unfair and not a little condescending.

that's just it. I think this HAS become the dynamic here in any thread that is not about old music. And it makes RM practically unreadable for me some days.

when was the last time they played together? this could have just been an extra rehearsal, but most likely it is just a festival set, which is just fine if you see them at a festival.

One guy says it's kind of shitty they didn't allow the webcast when every other band did, so the Ten Club cheersquad goes bananas:
So sick of all the fucking bitching and crying here. Happy Easter to all you spoiled pricks. Find something that really matters in this world to bitch about. Buy the bootleg and watch the YouTube vids when the chance arrives and just be fucking happy instead of feeling your entitled to be part of everything this band does.

Barrett Martin mentioned in a post a week or so ago that he was listening to them down the hall, rehearsing for the tour.

The setlist is probably not what PJ fans had hoped for, but not out of line with what they have been doing at festival concerts since 2011. I also totally get that after working on new material you probably want to stick with the staples you know by heart for a few short gigs rather than attempt another b-side-a-poolza, but after Vedder's shitty vocals the last time through there (illness IIRC), it would be cool to throw a little bone to our brothers and sisters in the South.

Good thing for you they play the east coast every fucking year. Which all shows are within hitchhiking distance.
They haven't played the east coast in 3 years, it's Berlin that they play every year.

I'd slit my wrists. But in certain areas this board is fast approaching those depths, which is why I despair.

but more often then not i think they play hits on the first show or 2 of the tour to get back into the swing of things, but i could be wrong.

'Tour' is only 3 festival shows, why bother at that point?

I can't believe anybody expected anything different. Guys, these are festival shows in South America.

Looks fine to me. I'm looking forward to hearing how they sound after being in the studio. I imagine they are energized right now.

Edit: just read your write up Kurt. Thanks for taking the time. Glad you had a great show. First Nothingman is really special. How was Ed's voice on that one?

Honestly, I am just upset that they are still playing Ole. I don't expect anything spectacular at festival shows.
