I've noticed a few more here in Northern California. Of course, people probably see me and think i'm one too.Bammer wrote:Are you guys seeing bandwagon Seahawks fans around the country?
Seems to me like the media is respecting that it's a good team, but the fans everywhere outside of Seattle still really love to hate on Seattle.
It will be interesting to see how many more Hawks fans are at the sports bar when I have to go. For the first game of the 2012 season (Wilson's first game), I went to a pretty big, crowded sports bar and there were around 10 fans there. I've been going to a smaller one since and I've not seen more than one other Hawks fan in the whole place.

I can totally see hating Pete Carroll if he's not the coach of your team. The only issue I have with him is his time out/clock management.Thejambi wrote:Most people i know hate Pete Carroll thus hate the Seahawks.

It would be so hard to judge that. You never know how many of those people are actually from Washington originally. Or even Oregon, Idaho, Vancouver BC, etc. Huge regional fan base and a lot of people have transplanted themselves from Seattle to other parts of the country.RussellManiac12 wrote:I've noticed a few more here in Northern California. The random Miami Heat fan at a sports bar in Minneapolis? Yeah, that guy's not from Miami. I promise.

soo, you're saying it's ok for me to be a fan!Bammer wrote:Difference...red calzolaio wrote:i should have jumped on the Seattle wagon like my dad told me to when i moved out there in 2006.
eh, i still might. everyone else can do it with the likes of the Heat, Cavs, Broncos etc.
Heat: Fans following LeBron to whatever team he joined.
Cavs: See above under "Heat."
Broncos: See above under "Heat" and replace "LeBron" with "Peyton."
With the Seahawks it is definitely a bandwagon following that has jumped on with an already very strong fan base...but it's about winning, not latching on to some big name free agent who jumped ship from another team. This thing here was built brick by brick.

Nice win vs. the Redskins even though the refs were trying to take it from us.
What the hell is Bevell thinking on offense? How about getting the ball to Harvin down the field more, instead of the behind the line of scrimmage on every play?

I wasn't worried.
Funny meme out there today about the head ref having a fantasy team, and his opponent this week having Harvin.

That's much more his skillset? It's been working pretty well, I wouldn't change it.RussellManiac12 wrote:Nice win vs. the Redskins even though the refs were trying to take it from us.

Re: Seattle Seahawks
You're right, but just send him and Richardson deep to stretch the defense a little bit. He's getting beat up on pretty much every one of the jet sweep or wr screen plays.Orpheus wrote:That's much more his skillset? Good move. Get rid of someone you've paid to play like 5 games in 2 seasons for fresh blood in a draft. Harvin is terribly overrated.

Also, rumors from some sources say he was the reason behind the lack of team chemistry lately... starting a punch of fights with teammates.

Re: Seattle Seahawks
My takeaway from today's game: Maybe we'll be able to keep (pay) Lynch after all, because Russell Wilson is not looking like a $20M/year QB and as he gets older he won't be able to rely on his running/escapability as much.

Re: Seattle Seahawks
Nobody would look good behind the Seahawks' offensive line. Yes he was off yesterday, but he has zero time to throw the ball. Lynch has to stay. Nice to see Michael finally getting some touches.Bammer wrote:My takeaway from today's game: Maybe we'll be able to keep (pay) Lynch after all, because Russell Wilson is not looking like a $20M/year QB and as he gets older he won't be able to rely on his running/escapability as much.
Bevell needs to go.
I'll be at the Clink next Sunday, huge one against the Giants.

Smart move, Seahawks--one the most underrated players on their defense.
