This post totally relates to a post I just made in the "Pearl Jam today vs. the past" thread over at the Pearl Jam forum.

I've a feeling the small size of the place allowed them to try this. They couldn't do it at a bigger show like the ones in Europe.

Didn't they play Avocado in sequence at one of the Italy 2006 shows?
Yep. Sept 19, 2006
Life Wasted from Immagine in Cornice has Eddie introducing the different set list for the evening.

As much as I like that they played any of their albums in full, I'm so happy it was No Code. As someone said above, this could be a real gamechanger in terms of their live shows.

The red mosquito/half full connection is finally acknowledged. Look on the right.

Actually, that would be the 'halfull' connection.

Smile/Sad is somewhat amusing.

Here's a little somethin' from last night. A couple of notes:

- this is direct off my memory card. No nothin' done to it, since I'm at work this morning.
- I don't have great gear. Don't expect something on par with the STL recording.
- the two guys behind me WOULD NOT SHUT UP ALL FUCKING NIGHT. They are featured prominently in everything I recorded, I'd imagine.

It was the shrewd choice. At any given show you might get 50% of Ten, Vitalogy, or Yield, so those are kinda out and No Code brings raucous tracks like Hail Hail and Habit, live super-rarities (I'm Open, AtB) and fan favorites galore (IMT, Smile, RM). Loved it. Talking with my ticket buddy from last night before the start, he mentioned No Code was his favorite PJ album and after Who You Are was played he joked "wouldn't it be funny if they did In My Tree next?"

I'm surprised a cynical voice hasn't yet suggested that this is why they did this

Either way, as LMS said they'd be crazy not to *INSTANT CLASSIC!* this thing and get it out ASAP.

even if they did do it for sales, which I strongly doubt, anytime something rare like this happens (thinking back to Mansfield '03) it's exciting.

Why Moline? Why No Code? Very surprising.
Setlists have been somewhat underwhelming on this leg, hopefully it's a sign of the rest of the tour for those of us catching some shows.

I knew something was up when they went into Hail Hail after Sometimes. The beginning of Who You Are sounded like IMT though, but once Ed started singing, we knew it was on.

You're right with that. In the 15 shows I've seen the most I've heard any No Code track is 5 (Hail, Hail and Present Tense) so it was a great choice. Of the other less prominent albums, Binaural and Riot Act may be a bit too exclusive compared with what No Code can bring.
