Man, i spent manys the morning goofing off on this that and the other with friends watching teletubbies...with the right drugs inside you, they make perfect sense

My drug-fueled kid's show of choice was Boobah:

In fact, I remember EXTREMELY clearly the first time I saw that show. It was after a late play rehearsal at university. It must've been about 10pm or so. My friend and I were getting a lift with another cast member, and a more senior cast member hopped in as well. He was riotously funny, but also awkward and a little weird and quiet.

On the way to drop him off, he said "do you want me to show you the scariest road in *insert town name here*?" Our driver starts freaking out, 'cuz she was a nervous driver and South African streets are often not very safe at night. But eventually, he convinces us, and we go down increasingly rough road to this twisting patch of dirt, the verges of which are overflowing with rusty old appliances and random shit, lit only by our headlights.

We may have been a little high, because we were getting absolutely weirded out for some reason, and awkward cast member was making things work by speaking in a strangely affected and distracted tone of voice. When we pulled up to his house, he said "do one of you want to come inside and see something cool?" and we all started making excuses and telling him that he was freaking us out, but he kept on saying "C'mon, just pick somebody and come inside. It'll be great." We argued for literally about 20 minutes.

Eventually, we all decided to go in with him, for backup. He led us through his house into his bedroom, turned on his computer, selected a file, turned to look at us as he double-clicked it and opened an episode of Boobah.

As soon as it was over, he said "see you tomorrow, close the door on your way out" and we left.

I rewatched the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Measure of a Man" yesterday. Goddamn that is one incredible, profound piece of writing and acting. Gotta be one of the greatest episodes of any TV show ever.

If you have Netflix, the whole series is streaming. It's episode 9 (I think) of season 2. It's really a remarkable piece of work.

Moone Boy is a hugely popular tv show here and in the UK, about a boy in a small town in Ireland, and his imaginary friend(played brilliantly by Chris O Dowd). It's like an inverse Calvin and Hobbes...but, now it's getting an American makeover it seems...I love the show but how successful this will be? be interested to see..

I'm with you. It's the sort of thing the show did in these last couple seasons that allowed it to get away with such a ballsy ending. If that came at the end of season four, it might have felt gimmicky and wouldn't have worked.
