Awesome surprise appearances by The Rock aside, Raw has been so awful lately. I wish I could be in the room when someone suggests something like "why dont we have Ambrose come down with a hot dog cart, and then he can squirt ketchup and mustard all over Orton and Kane?" so I could give that person a DDT.

Bought the Paul Heyman blu ray the other day. Watched it today. Fantastic documentary and lots of amazing promos. I'm a huge Bobby Heenan fan but I think Heyman rivals him for best manager ever.

Heyman and Heenan are on another level. Heenan is hilarious and could have been a successful standup if he wanted to be.

Both of them are great talkers, but The Brain's subtlety, those little comments he'd make as almost asides that you could easily miss, put him over the top for me. Most went over my head as a kid, but everything I've watched of him on the network has opened up a whole new level.

Watch any Heenan-themed video on Youtube...it's loads of fun.

Brain: How many kids does Stu Hart have with Helen?
Vince: Twelve, I think.
Brain: Oh, one of each?

I just think Heymans ability to put the live audience in the palm of his hand puts him ahead of Heenan. That promo he cut in Chicago before mania this year was an absolute clinic in mic work. He took a crowd that was frothing at the mouth over the CM Punk situation and he used that to get over the Taker-Lesnar match. The crowd didn't even realize they had been duped out of the punk chants it was fantastic. Only one guy could have gotten that crowd off of the Punk thing, and it was Heyman and he pulled it off flawlessly.

That was promo was wonderful. Also, when Punk turned heel in 2012 he was still getting him cheers. How do you generate some heat? Put him with Heyman. It was Heyman's idea for Punk to come out in Yankee pinstripe boots in Boston at Night of Champions that year against Cena. Little things like that. Heyman is more in touch with what the fans want and don't want than just about anyone. One of the top minds ever in wrestling. Brock Lesnar owes a lot to Heyman as well. Foley owes a lot to Heyman. Austin owes a lot to Heyman. You get the point.

Heyman is outstanding on the mic. Always has been. You saw it early in NWA/WCW. The Dangerous Alliance stuff was golden. They had like a mock award ceremony where all the members won awards. Incredible underrated stable. You had Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton and Larry Zbyszko. That is pretty fucking wonderful top to bottom.

I found this pic the other day. Just look at the star power in this picture to get a good grasp on Heyman's impact in the business. Again, highly recommend the documentary.

That line he pulled out before Summerslam (I think?) last year when he told HHH: "How about winner gets Stephanie...or should I say, loser gets Stephanie" still makes me laugh every time I think about it.

My brother met her at the 2000 WBCN River Rave and still has the picture he took with her. She was his #2 behind Buffy.

So that Legends of Wrestling round table show that's in the vault section is pretty good. I've watched a few of them this week, the nWo and the greatest rivalries were good.

Depends on who the panelists are, but yeah, those shows can be great. I love me some Mean Gene.

Agreed most of those are fun. Pat Patterson has some crazy stories especially about Andre. For an old rasslin nerd those are right up my alley.

Mach and Mean Gene FTW. So excited for the new Savage blu ray dropping next month. Gene and him were good friends so I bet Gene is featured.

Yeah, as much as I love Ric Flair, he's not a good panelist on these. The best group I saw so far was Okerlund hosting Bret Hart, JR, Hayes, and Patterson.
