does this really sound all that funny to you? david lynch couldn't tackle this material.
'Brian's adopted brother is killed when he discovers that the shop he works in sends weapons to Vietnam instead of medications.'

its hard to make out, but at the :31 mark, you get a decent view of the shifter, and while it is automatic, i think it has 1st 2nd and 3rd down at the bottom where you can manually shift it if you would like.nah wrote:at 1:44 does he throw that automatic convertible into park or what?turned2black wrote:nah wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:I haven't seen Thrashin' but I'll bet you a dollar Gleaming the Cube is way funnier.turned2black wrote:Thrashin’ was way better than Gleaming the Cube.Strat wrote:Platy - what are your "guilty pleasure" movies? For years, I've wrestled with which Schwarzenegger movie is more perfect: Running Man or Commando. Though neither are as perfect a film experience as Predator, they are each perfect in their own right.

I can kinda see The Running Man and Predator, but Commando not so much. And what about Total Recall, that chick has three tits.BurtReynolds wrote:For years, I've wrestled with which Schwarzenegger movie is more perfect: Running Man or Commando. Re: What Movies are you watching?
good, good...enough talk of Lynch, we are now in the username Burtreynolds wheelhouse...
Predator's beauty is in its simplicity. Its 80s action glory distilled to its very essence. There is no romantic love interest, no lame comic relief guy, only the barest of plotpoints: Badass alien comes to Earth to fight other badasses, the end. All the things that bloat shitty modern action movies is removed. I adore that. It also doesnt hurt that the entire goddamn movie is quotable (and I quote it often).
Some would say that the film's only flaw is Billy's offscreen death, but sadly, the technology didnt exist back then to truly capture such an epic battle (in truth its probably an entire film in itself), so I agree with McTiernan's decision to let the audience use their imagination.
Total Recall is a Verhoven joint (Robocop perhaps deserving of inclusion into my holy trinity alongside Predator and Aliens), so you know its quality.
Commando and Running Man are each ridiculously quotable, but Commando does feature a villain who inexplicably wears a chainmail vest, so it might have the edge. Running Man does have the guy from Family Feud, though. tough call.
