Re: All-Time Franchise Baseball Tournament: Day 19 RESULTS!
I so badly regret how I built my rotation. Jim Scott having to fill in for Red Faber (and at this point being just as bad as him) while I have a treasure trove of stud pitchers not on my team is killing me. If this tournament becomes annual I'm carrying Doc White, Wilbur Wood, & Chris Sale next yet. Maybe even Billy Pierce or Ted Lyons too.

In the advanced stats for pitchers in the box scores, what's the difference between BFP and AB?

So what advanced stat does it become valuable to have a difference between those for?

I was SO close to moving Halladay up to start after Stieb today. I obviously should have given how badly Hentgen got shelled. Damn.

My rotation of first basemen (mostly consisting of AL MVPs Frank Thomas and Dick Allen) have combined to hit .197., with 47 strike outs. This was supposed to be my most loaded position. I mean, all three of these guys beat out 2010 Paul Konerko to make the roster.

I was thinking if Hentgen won, you guys would really be right back in the race for the last playoff spot. You've still got plenty of time left though.philpritchard wrote:I was SO close to moving Halladay up to start after Stieb today. I obviously should have given how badly Hentgen got shelled. Damn.

Thomas is exactly the kind of player I would expect to dominate offensively in this tournament.Lament wrote:My rotation of first basemen (mostly consisting of AL MVPs Frank Thomas and Dick Allen) have combined to hit .197., with 47 strike outs. Doerr has 2 triples and he's only had 64 at bats.
