warehouse isn't going to want to hear this now, but the two late games were awesome. Very difficult to pay attention to both of them at the same time. And the Raiders staying winless was the cherry on top.

This is the first year that I can remember that the Lions are legitimately good.warehouse wrote:after watching that game the only thing i came away with is both teams are bad. who on earth was matt ryan throwing to on that pick? you dont make that throw to begin with, and the only person close was on the other team. that was terrible.

Re: 2014 NFL Season
One dimensional offense that year. The defense was just ok overall with some big play ability. It was the first year they established that they had ability but there teeth weren't that sharp. The second half of the season has been there undoing in recent history. This year could end up the same. Having said that, I have more faith in this years defense and believe the offense will start to click.Lament wrote:2011?Thejambi wrote:This is the first year that I can remember that the Lions are legitimately good.

So if there are less than ten seconds left, and the offense gets a delay of game penalty, no time is run off the clock? That doesn't make sense and screwed the Ravens yesterday, right?

10 second run off I think. It didn't matter anyway, that was the most Falcon loss ever. "Im praying for rain, I'm praying for tidal waves, I want to see it all go down, want to flush it all away..."

Re: 2014 NFL Season
The 10-second runoff only applies if the clock is running. I don't know about the BAL/CIN game, but in DET/ATL it was stopped, so there was nothing the Falcons could have done about it.E.H. I thought there would be a runoff also. Had to look it up.

Patrick Peterson is the most over-rated player in the NFL. The Cowboys are gonna torch him next week.

That assumes that he's actually healthy enough to play next week...he was very much in la la land after that hit.turned2black wrote:Patrick Peterson is the most over-rated player in the NFL. The Cowboys are gonna torch him next week.

Re: 2014 NFL Season
The 10 second run off exists so teams with no time outs cant take a penalty in order to get the clock stopped. If the clock is already stopped a dead ball foul doesn't help them, so there is no run off.

Re: 2014 NFL Season
Right; and in a vacuum, getting backed up 5 yards for a field goal try isn't a boom for the offense. The only argument that I can think of that would make sense is that a kicker could get a feel for the wind and the turf on the first kick.

I did mean the DET/ATL game, my bad. Just seems like the kicker got a second chance at a missed field goal when the penalty was on his team. Just felt wrong.

Re: 2014 NFL Season
Something similar happened in the Pats game. Chicago stopped them on a 4th and goal, but they got to kick a field goal because of a false start. That felt wrong, too.E.H. Meh. If it was a pass play or a running play, it stops right away. A kick just happens too quick to stop in the middle of a whistle.

Re: 2014 NFL Season
Prater said that the field was in much better shape from 48 out than 43, so it helped on that level also.
It was an ugly game that really didn't deserve a winner at all.
