This may be a stupid question, so forgive me, but was The Stranger originally written/published in French? If so, is there a particular English translation you would recommend?

Oh! I started The Virgin Suicides because I've read both of Eugenides' other books, so I figured I should finish this off.

Did you like The Marriage Plot? I started it but never finished.

I never read Virgin Suicides but I liked the movie.

It was okay. I am a huge fan of Middlesex, so it was hard to top. Virgin Suicides I like so far. I barely remember the movie; I went to an all-guys high school and the DVD was passed around my group of friends like a samizdat, discovering our sexuality and all that stuff. Honestly, I don't remember it even being that sexified.
