But it starts in Eternia and ends in Eternia. They dance with Courtney Cox and she gets that really bad pizza blister on her leg. But even the NYC stuff is all fantastic. Whatever. I'm being dumb. I get your reasoning.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Yeah, when I think of that movie, I mostly remember real-world stuff with a climax set in a fantasy realm.durdencommatyler wrote:Although... Yeah i really miss these movies. Masters of the universe need to be on this list.

Well, if I were to rank it, I think I'd put it between Hercules and Krull.VinylGuy wrote:yeah it should be on the list...not only starts and end in eternia, but when they are in NY there are a lot of fantasy elements and weird shit happening.

He's dead wrong about his bottom three. Dead. Wrong. Excalibur is not only one of the best 80s fantasy movies, it's one of the best movies of any genre from that decade.bada wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote: 13. Excalibur

Re: '80s Fantasy Movies
Wait.... I just looked up Krull (1983). I don't know what that is. I haven't seen that. I'm thinking of something else that came out much later.
I take back what I said about Krull.

Is the lack of Conan the Barbarian discussion in this thread simply due to everyone agreeing it is indisputably amazing?

Re: '80s Fantasy Movies
Conan the Barbarian is a legit great movie and proof that Arnold is an incredibly effective actor with the right material. It's probably his best performance. Well before he tried to act in the late 90's. It reminds me of how James Hetfield was a good vocalist before he started trying to sing.
Joey's backtrack on Krull has removed him from the shit list. Well done.
