I'd be most interested in Fenway, but I'd travel to any of those spots.BigRedLedbetter wrote:You might be right. Maybe just Wrigley, Fenway and Safeco then? I'm actually surprised they have never played Safeco.CopperTom wrote:I don't think they could sell all those seats.
Hoping for Dallas sometime in 2015. I have fam that lives 10 mins from Jerry world.

I would rather they play Key Arena twice than Safeco once. I have never been to a concert there but I have to imagine that a ton of the seats would suck for a concert.BigRedLedbetter wrote:You might be right. Maybe just Wrigley, Fenway and Safeco then? You are probably right. I'm just surprised it's never happened. I think Safeco is gorgeous and I need an excuse to go there and Seattle as well.Bammer wrote:I would rather they play Key Arena twice than Safeco once. Why play Safeco when they could play the Gorge? If the NW is getting any dates next year that seems to be the most logical place to me.BigRedLedbetter wrote:You are probably right. Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
Sometimes when I'm at shows, I hear all sorts of rumors. I heard almost no optimistic rumors this fall. The only thing I've read recently is a South American tour in either April or October (depending on which source you believe), Firefly Music Festival - June 18 - 21 and PinkPop - June 12 - 14. They clearly wouldn't play both FireFly and PinkPop. Fans also feel a Canadian tour would accompany a South American tour since that happened in 2005 and 2011.
IMHO, I don't see much happening. Matt's with Soundgarden in the beginning of the year. Ed clearly needs knee surgery. I would be thrilled with 2 or 3 US festival dates.

I've read it on non-PJ sites too. Seems like a nice setup. I assume there's a bunch of hotels nearby since it's near the NASCAR track.warehouse wrote:firefly? im in

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
Per a source: Handful of small club dates (US) followed by late summer / early fall dates (about a dozen) in Asian cities they have never played before.

Club dates, eh? It wouldn't surprise me too much if they opened for Sleater-Kinney next year sometime in Portland or Seattle, given that they've supported Sleater-Kinney over the years and it would be fitting, provided they opened unannounced (and there is precedent for this). I'm also hoping for a 2-night stand at the Gorge next year.Bammer wrote:Per a source: Handful of small club dates (US) followed by late summer / early fall dates (about a dozen) in Asian cities they have never played before.
Which means we'll get another East Coast tour.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
I don't see PJ playing a handful of club shows unless it's around a larger tour. It would just piss fans off who can't get tickets, and I think the band likes playing (and likes the money) from playing larger venues.
Lots of chatter on the other two PJ message boards, and a Facebook group about Wrigley again next summer. I don't think they'll go back after only two years but it seems like a legit rumour. Also on Facebook someone who was in-the-know for PJ20 at Alpine is claiming the band will play there next summer.
I guess I still remember the 2006 and 2010 shows getting announced with six weeks notice, so I'm surprised there are even rumours this far out.
I know South America was also mentioned for either the spring or the fall and some people had mentioned Canada. Were there any actual sources for Canada or just speculation?

Ha. Sorry guys. Made that up. Source was Voice In My Head.
Would love Canada next year though.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
Do bands play Bonaroo and Firefly usually? They could schedule a 12 show, 2008-type tour around these two festivals and play the southeast, east coast markets (Boston proper, maybe even Fenway, MSG in NYC) and then Toronto and Montreal.
Have Euro 2015 rumours dried up? In the summer some people were making it sound like a lock they'd be back. I was reading on another board PJ was booked for Download in 2014 but Live Nation talked the band into doing their own headlining shows instead.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
All of the Wrigley rumors are based off of Theo Epstein's comments. The only open dates are Friday July 17, Saturday July 18, Friday July 31 or Saturday August 1. I read elsewhere that the Foo Fighters may be the only concert this summer because of the renovation.TouringReg wrote:

I see getting between 2-4 months notice for all tours moving forward.
There are actual sources for the SA dates. One source says April, the other says October. Both show the same cities - almost identical to 2011 except Argentine gets 2 shows. No actual sources for Canada.

Ed does have the out of the furnace album still in the can. I can totally see him releasing that next year. How bad is the knee? From the videos I saw, he was moving around ok.

I was thinking more of the time that they opened for Cheap Trick unannounced in 1998, or Ed showing up at the final Sleater-Kinney show to play a couple of songs. I'm sure he'll be at a show in either Portland or Seattle, but the question is whether the rest of the band will be there, and whether they will be enticed to play.

I wonder if they'd want to open for the Who a few times this coming Spring?
