Anyone here running a NAS? I got one recently for home to use as a media server and backup system. It's a 2-bay enclosure with two 3TB drives in it. I'm trying to figure out the best way to set it up, and thought I'd get some opinions. My main two options that I'm considering are:
1) Separate the two drives in the NAS enclosure so that one drive houses all the media and computer backups, and the second drive is a backup to the first drive that I schedule daily backups
2) Combine both drives of the NAS into a single RAID and maximize my capacity to 6TB, and spend an extra $100-150 on an external drive that is connected to the NAS for scheduled backups of the entire NAS
Thoughts?
