Just finished book 2. Things deviate a bit more here. Even having seen the show, this is a really enjoyable read.

Finishing up Feast for Crows, kind of a disappointment. And, I can't believe the new book won't be out til '16? Is this true? I'm going to have to take my time w DwD. Also, are the Lannisters in DwD, or no? Wasn't sure, since there was no Tyrion, John Snow, or Daenerys in Feast for Crows. They're my favorite story line, so I hope they are present.
Still have a little under two hundred pages left of FfC, fwiw.

Poorly written question by me. I was asking about Cersei and Jamie, essentially.durdencommatyler wrote:Everyone you listed has chapters in Dance.15showsandcounting wrote:Finishing up Feast for Crows, kind of a disappointment. Anyone else reading The World of Ice and Fire? It's basically like reading Wiki pages, but it's good for reading on the can.

Getting towards the end of Storm of Swords and Coldhands has to be Benjen Stark.

Well, at least there was some payoff with Cersei being arrested. Is A Dance with Dragons going to pack a lot more punch? I sure hope so. I feel like I read 1,000 pages to see that bitch Cersei get her due, but other than that, I feel like I just kind of read to fill in some minor blanks, not much more.

I should be there with plenty of time, but I'm also known to just put a book down for a few weeks.

Re: A Song Of Ice and Fire (Spoilers for all Published Books
Depends on what kind of a punch you're looking for. My wife and I are about halfway through Dance, and there's plenty of stuff I've liked about the book so far, and a fair amount that's kind of meh. The vast majority of it, though, has just been world-building. There's definitely been some neat surprises, but no resolutions or important action sequences as of yet. I'm most invested in the Stark storylines, so those chapters have been the most interesting to me.15showsandcounting wrote:Well, at least there was some payoff with Cersei being arrested.
