Did some photos for a band over the weekend and i'm starting to get tunnel vision on some of these. Wondering if you guys prefer the composite that is completely left-lit, or the one that tries to be a little more symmetrical? I've been looking at this shit too long and I can't make a decision.
On a related note, I don't normally do studio shoots like this as I don't have the equipment (or the space!) for it, but I decided to hack this session together with a couple of cheap studio lights I have and a grey bedsheet as a backdrop. I made the guys stand on chairs and hold the sheet when they weren't being shot . That minimal setup was adequate for a stark high contrast image like these, but it probably wouldn't be so hot for something I wanted fully lit. Since i didn't have the correct setup I did have to do a fair bit of post processing in photoshop to remove the bed sheet backdrop. I might invest in a portable backdrop in the future if i decide to do more of these kinds of shoots. But despite that I think it turned out pretty good.
Thanks, man. Enjoy your time in PHX, the weather should be awesome when you're here. If you're looking for a brew, Four Peaks has a location in Scottsdale.
