I think I read once that there were a couple songs that EV wanted to include on Ten and/or VS and he was critical of his guitar playing so they didn't see the light of day.

Agreed with this. Especially Not For You. Pretty sure the first time I heard that was SNL and I loved it.

Yeah, I'd love to hear an isolated guitar track of Eddie's live playing.

If there were some simple way of obtaining this.

I was at that Tibetan freedom concert and when ed asked people from the audience to come up and play my buddy took off at 115MPH to the front of the stage. It was pretty lol when we realized it was a setup.

In all seriousness, for some bands, IEM recordings exist where the wearer hears all band members but not himself. It's the opposite of what you're looking for, but cool nonetheless.

Matt's IEM just plays recordings of critical RM posts on a loop.

I don't mind when he's playing an acoustic guitar, he's pretty descent player. But i just can't stand him as electric guitar player. He's tone and setup is awful. And mr. Vedder just can't play the heavy distorted riffs. Think of Cornell playing.

Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder - Hunger Strike (Lollapalooza, September 8, 1992) :D

I'd like to hear the versions of Not For You and Corduroy with only Mike and Stone playing guitars.

In the best of days, Ed's playing was a perfect addition. Stone has a rolling, head-bobbing classic rock quality to his style and Mike has a cheeseball "here come the tasty licks ya'll" wankish personality. Putting Ed's punkish stutter into that mix...something brittle, something broken, something borrowed, something blue...gave the band's sound a grounded quality that served Vitalogy, No Code, and Binaural well.

Now that they're in their Phil Collins period, it's a bit of a joke. It sounds like somebody's kid was allowed to track the rhythm guitar on that song about whispered winds or whatever.

I don't think I have ever listened to a full Bowie song. The parts I have heard did not pique my interest.

Probably that one song he did with Mick Jagger. The one with the super gay video.
