Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
So crowdfunding is the latest thing, huh. There's already one listed for Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens(?). The venue seems horrible and it has a non-negotiable 10:00 pm curfew. This one seems sketchy already. CRedit cards have already been charged, supposedly.

Rumor has it that The Wishlist Foundation will be launching their own crowdfunded attempt for a show at the Gorge. If only one ever succeeds, it would be this one.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
From FB:
In light of recent events, I'm reposting this from our Wishlist Foundation Group for anyone interested.
Back in early September, Wishlist Foundation began working on developing a fan-sourced (crowd-sourced) campaign to raise enough money to host a Pearl Jam concert weekend on or around October 22, 2015 at the infamous Gorge Amphitheater in Gorge, WA.
Part 25th anniversary celebration, part thank you, part activism fan movement, Wishlist Foundation plans on rolling out this campaign between Christmas and New Years.
Today another crowd-source event was announced to bring the band to Forest Hills, NY that will last the next 88 days. Wishlist was approached by the organizer to work together via PM, at which point I informed him of our existing plans, offered to work together/include him in ours and genuinely wished him well when he politely declined.
Because our campaign will launch within the 88 days of the Forest Hills campaign, I thought it would be polite and in good community spirit to mention the Wishlist campaign in advance, as a preemptive attempt to dispel any potential negativity that Wishlist was trying to 'step on his toes or steal his thunder'. That isn't and won't be, our intent.
We realize people are now interested in our campaign, but we're not ready to release any details more specific than I posted here. When we announce, we want to make sure we do it right - with facts, specific goals, specific ticket expectations, rewards, etc. We're not going to have our hand forced because someone else in our PJ community is borrowing the same awesome idea from the Foo Fighters fans.
We LOVE the fan community. It is our family and has been for the last ten years. Myself, and all of us at Wishlist, genuinely believe that each and every fan can make a HUGE difference and a HUGE positive impact on the world, within our fan community and especially with each other.
We've seen it happen. Witnessed your generosity and extraordinary efforts.
Fan motivated and created events are how Wishlist started. We support lots of individual and smaller fan group related projects, causes and more. We've supported individuals and fans both publicly and quietly out of the public eye. I don't feel the need to list them - it's not about naming names to prove a point.
We're grassroots. We're volunteers. We're fans. We wish everyone who is trying to do a good thing the best of luck. It's how we believe the world should be.

Why would you ever donate to a campaign that doesn't even hire a proofreader?CopperTom wrote:So crowdfunding is the latest thing, huh. Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
Man, I'd love it if they played the Gorge next year but October 22 is a really bad time. I know the intentions are good but did they really think about the weather there? October in the PNW, even that far east on the dry side, is a mixed bag. It could be nice, but it could also be wet, windy and cold. October 22 is a Thursday, too.
4th of July weekend makes a lot more sense, if they aren't back in Europe doing festivals.

You guys are on the road a lot. Do you have favorite venues you like to play?BigRedLedbetter wrote:Not sure if posted yet but just saw this........

The place like we played in Moline the other night, those 10,000-seat arenas, the Joe Louis in Detroit that's like 50 years old, the Forum in L.A., places like that. There's something about those older basketball and hockey arenas. I don't know if it's the dust and the grime that deadens the room? Part of it is that the seats are sort of straight up in those places, so it feels like even the in far away seats you can see the faces of all the people like they're right next to you.
Madison Square Garden is always an amazing place to play. The Gorge if it's not 180 degrees is a great place. We haven't played Red Rocks in a long time; I'd love to go back there at some point.
The Lightning Bolt tour is wrapping up. Is that all the touring planned for a while?
Yeah, I think we sort of relish having nothing on the calendar, even if it's just for a couple months. I would guess we'll get through the holidays and then talk at some point after that and figure out what we're doing.
We went pretty hard this last year, so I think everyone is ready to take a break and just wash the dishes and change some diapers.

LOL. Stop working so hard then cause the last couple (two) are by far the worst output you've ever had. Yah, I'm off topic. Fuck you all.

Re: 2015 Tour Rumors
I think the Euro summer festivals start getting announced in the next few weeks and my guess is it'll be the Foo Fighters turn to headline a bunch of these. The Foo Fighters North American dates get announced tomorrow and that might be a good indicator of which festivals in NA they may be playing (Bonaroo, Coachella, Firefly). The one they won't be playing is Lolla since they're doing Wrigley, so my guess is if PJ does a festival next year that's where it will be. Although they co headlined in 2012, I don't think festivals would double up on PJ and FF headlining. Seems like too much money to spend on rock bands when most festivals are having some hip hop and EDM at the top.
I really liked the Pearl Jam shows I saw in 2013/14 and I feel like we are in a bit of an abyss here after basically having shows to look forward to from Jan 2013 until Oct 2014.

Is Queens of the Stone Age officially a headliner of Lolla 2015? I think that would rule out PJ.TouringReg wrote:I think the Euro summer festivals start getting announced in the next few weeks and my guess is it'll be the Foo Fighters turn to headline a bunch of these. Were QOTSA rumored somewhere? I haven't seen anyone on the Lolla board mention them at all. And they just played Lolla in 2013.CopperTom wrote:Is Queens of the Stone Age officially a headliner of Lolla 2015? On twitter if you search "Pearl Jam 2015" it's nothing but people in South America posting about shows in either April or October. I think in the past they've announced the SA shows with a bit more lead time so I think April is a stretch.
I'll stick with my initial (completely uninformed) guess for now that if they play the US next year it will be 12 shows around either Bonaroo or Lolla and include places like Toronto and Montreal that were skipped the past two years. It will be four years since they played Toronto and six years since they played the US in summer so I think they're due for some of these spots.
