I, too, hope they move away from BO, however, I think his best trait is he also acts like a project manager and keeps them moving forward. I think they may walk over alot of other producers.

They just need to book studio litho. Its home base. They can take all the time they want on the record. They can clock in and out of work for the day, maybe work overtime, this is okay because they can just drive home to their wives and kiddos. This would allow them to actually work hard.

It's only homebase for three of them. Ed's pretty firmly in Hawaii and Jeff in Montana.

Based on Jeff's most recent interview, I don't think he's willing to make the sacrifices to his life to make a truly great album. He's at the tinker in his own home studio stage of life much more than move to Seattle and invest months of his life to something.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

I hope they start following more of the path Neil Young or Sonic Youth carved out, rather than the Rolling Stones / U2 path they have gone down.

I would love it if they just went to the studio, maybe no ideas, and all just start jamming together, improv style. Work from that, and give us a live feeling studio album. By that, I mean not over produced, somewhat raw / rough around the edges, somewhat spontaneous, and a little more loosey goosey than the last two albums.

that album took forever though. i wouldnt mind seeing them work with rob cavallo. he got dmb to make great music again, mostly by recording jam sessions and working on their best stuff from the sessions. id love to see pearl jam approach an album like that.

S/T is pretty damn good and could've been great. So this is a good idea.

Im think they'll set out to do a different album (no code/binaural).

BOB will hate it, realise they'll need longer than two sessions and bail on the idea.

Vitalogy turns 20 in a little less than a month.

I speculate that the next album will sound like it was made by a band that never bothered listening to and wouldn't have cared all that much for that record.

Also, the band pulled in almost two million dollars from just two shows recently...Moline and St Paul. So I further speculate that the band could not give less of a shit about the next album, because money.

Why would you want them to, if you don't want them to be like PJ trying to sound like PJ?

I think it's gonna be a while. They may put out the yield/no code box next year, ed has an album in the can and it looks like Jeff has zero interest in pearl jam right now. So probably a few cash grab festivals, and eddie tour and some RNDM shows.

New Album in 2015???

Post by melonhead4 »

I dont know if anyone has seen this and i smell bs but who knows.... read below and discuss amongst yourselves

source-http://en.mediamass.net/people/pearl-jam/new-album.html

Have Pearl Jam been working on a new album? While representatives are keeping tight-lipped, reports have been circulating on the Internet. There have been strong rumors that the rock band is finally returning to the recording studio working on a what might be a back-to-roots album.

UPDATE 05/01/2015 : This story seems to be false. (read more)

According to a source, rumors of Pearl Jam (Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Matt Cameron, ed) working in recording studio are true, with as many as eight songs having been put to tape. “It’s still in the early stages,” “They got security on the doors to ensure no-one hears a whisper,” a source said.

World Tour To Follow New Album?

Pearl Jam are rumoured to be planning a worldwide tour at the end of 2016. When contacted, a representative had no information on a new album, or any of the rock band’s future plans. This isn’t the first time in recent memory reports have surfaced about Pearl Jam recording sessions. Fans will be anxiously awaiting...

Do you think Pearl Jam will pick up right where he left off and deliver another excellent album? Have you heard any rumors about the new album? Let us know!!
