Guys, its just rock music. Some of you may be over-thinking this shit.

I might be able to get to an E-bow.

Expecting a good, creative Foo Fighters song at this point is kind of like expecting a Bon Jovi or Kiss song that isn't totally gay.

I like Congregation and was happy to see they recorded with one of the few modern country acts that I respect.

I actually liked Congregation the best of the tunes so far. It had a little less of the awkward patchwork lyrics vibe that diminished the others.

Two new tracks. Outside is the perfect rip of Return of the Rat.

I like this a lot more than In Your Honor or ESPG. While it doesn't rock light Wasting Light, if you're 45 years old and recording in a bunch of different studios outside of your comfort zone with other rockers, this is probably the album you'll end up making.

The Feast And The Famine, Congregation, Outside, and In The Clear are all right.
I might be able to get to an E-bow.

Official release date?

I watched the first episode of the HBO show today (Chicago). So fucking cool. As someone who has done a tiny little bit of studio recording and has always wanted to be a professional musician...I ate it up. So fucking cool.

The show is really awesome, like really awesome, but the songs aren't that great and the on-screen lyrics only further highlight the forced nature of the creative process.

Show 9/10
Album 4/10

The album is getting a lukewarm response everywhere. Have only heard snippets, will try to listen to it later this week. But for someone who doesn''t 'get' the Foos and really wants to like them (they are so likeable, Grohl is like a rock N roll puppy...) it seems that I have to wait for atleast one more record... (I dig the colour/shape and S/T, and wasting light was just ok, all the others...'terrible' IMHO)

This album is pretty underwhelming. Wasting Light was much, much better.

Usually, with FF one of the first few tracks off the album will hit me, but this one is pretty underwhelming. I loved Wasting Light, imo it kills this record.

Outside is probably my favorite. I'm kind of digging Subterranean. Feast and The Famine, I like the music, but the vocals and lyrics arent very good.

Something for Nothing is growing on me, after initially hating it.

That's 4 out of 8 tunes that are just ok. Pretty mediocre record, and I usually like FF.
