Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways (November 2014)

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

Something From Nothing is the only worthwhile song on this album

Show 9/10
Album 4/10
id probably give the album a 2. at this point i turn the show off before they play the song. im not sure what happened to them, its like grohl wants every song to be an anthem or something. but the show has been super cool, for turning into a shit song writer grohl is a great doc maker.

My 4/10 was being very generous, I felt if I gave it a 1 it'd be hyperbole...but 2/10 is probably more accurate. Hahaha

Man. What do they put on Grohls vocals? They always sound the same and it feels like a flanger effect of sorts.

Good show. Poor songs.

I got my ticket for their Australian tour in March next year. Will be interesting to see how many of the new tunes they play live and how they hold up. Probably better than the album I'm hoping. There are some really bad lyrics on Sonic Highways.

This is, like, the perfect description. The lyrics are interesting so far but yes, forced is a good way to put it.

And as someone else said...they do something weird to Dave's voice. It sounds muted somehow unless he's screaming. I would prefer it more raw.

How to improve music:

1. Matt Cameron leaves Pearl Jam to play drums for Soundgarden
2. Taylor Hawkins leaves Foo Fighters to play drums for Pearl Jam
3. Foo Fighters are declared musically bankrupt and dissolved
4. Dave Grohl plays in a dual drummer set up with Jon Theodore on the next Queens of the Stone Age record, plays drums on the second Them Crooked Vultures record and then become a full time documentary guy

Dave played My Hero and Everlong on the mall in DC tonight. The Fortunate Son jam with Springsteen and the Zac Brown Band was killer.

8-)
I might be able to get to an E-bow.

Good drummer, might not be the right personality.

I'd be happy for PJ to have Barrett Martin, Sean Kinney, whoever, as long as we get the maximum number of Soundgarden records possible.

Grohl announced Foo's will be playing Slane castle here, may 30th 2015...that's 80,000-100,000 people. I haven't heard this record yet. Must remedy that.
