2014 has pretty much sucked. I'm hoping for great things from 2015. Some excitement on the horizon:
New films from:
-Nicolas Winding Refn
-Gaspar Noe
-Paul Verhoeven (hopefully)
-Roman Polanski (maybe)
-Rob Zombie
-Xavier Dolan
-Joe Wright
-Harmony Korine
-Glenn Ficara & John Requa
-Roland Emmerich
-Ti West
-Andrea Arnold
-Guillermo del Toro
Also:
-Furious 7
-Mad Max: Fury Road
-The Disaster Artist
-Jurassic World
-The Legend of Conan (maybe)
Just thinking about a Paul Verhoeven comeback gets me hard.

So far, Ex Machina is the only thing I'm SUPER excited about and looking forward to. And I'm sort of moderately excited about Star Wars, I guess.

Since I am a feminist I'm not sure how I feel about Roman Polanski.

Nicolas Winding Refn has been catering to a broader audience. consider me skeptical of his next film.

I just quickly searched the name, and clicked on another guy with the same name by accident. Anyway, not sure I am a fan of this other Verhoeven either.

I'm a feminist and Polanski is my all-time favorite director.

dead serious. Drive was pretty lame compared to most of his other stuff, and Only God Forgives was just straight up mediocre.

Shouldn't it bother you that he raped a 13 year old?

Please explain how the fuck OGF could be considered "catering to a broader audience." It was easily his most esoteric film to date.

Of course that whole debacle bothers me. But that doesn't mean I can't admire his films.

I would argue that Valhalla Rising was his "most esoteric film." but, I can admit OGF wasn't terribly mainstream, still I felt it was a fail.
