Re: Favorite Documentaries
I've watched countless WWII docs, too many to name here.
Lots of good ones named here already. A couple more to add:
Trinity and Beyond
Jiro Dreams of Sushi

If you want to see amateur filmmakers pretend to be in love/scared/shocked by obviously contrived and constructed events, go for it.durdencommatyler wrote:So, not worth seeing then?BurtReynolds wrote:I thought Catfish was mostly fraudulent bullshit.

How much worse is it than the Sunny episode about catfishing?BurtReynolds wrote:If you want to see amateur filmmakers pretend to be in love/scared/shocked by obviously contrived and constructed events, go for it.durdencommatyler wrote:So, not worth seeing then?BurtReynolds wrote:I thought Catfish was mostly fraudulent bullshit.

I thought it was insufferable. A bunch of ridiculous windbags droning on about their insane, bullshit theories. Ugh.durdencommatyler wrote:You didn't find it hilarious and thoroughly entertaining? I just.... I can't.LoathedVermin72 wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:Room 237 is pretty fantastic.

Team LV on Room 237. I'm a pretty big Shining fan and I thought it was damn near unwatchable. Particularly annoying were the cutscenes from other Kubrick films that had fucking nothing to do with what they were talking about.

Re: Favorite Documentaries
It was hilarious. My favorite was the Kubrick faked the moon landing theory. Just absolute horshit.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I thought it was insufferable. However, the movie did teach me a lot about why The Shining is such an unsettling film. Kubrick did some brilliant maneuvering, some expert psychological sleight of hand.
