I think I'm going to read The Stranger later this month. I have a brand new copy on the shelf at home and I just can't wait to get at 'er.

"Know much" is an understatement. I'm pretty sure she owns every book, has seen every interview, owns every DVD, has basically read/heard/seen everything there is to consume related to Bukowski.
Personally, I don't consider him a misogynist or an asshole. I've seen the interview you're talking about. He was drunk off his ass and acting stupid. Alcohol has a tendency to make people act like jerks.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. And he was definitely being an asshole in that scenario. I'm not condoning the way he acted. My thoughts are probably being influenced by hearing my wife's extended diatribes on why he's not a misogynist asshole, haha. She makes a pretty persuasive case.
