two by Wenders and two by Jarmusch, but whatever.
Fitzcarraldo (Herzog)
Paris, Texas (Wenders)
Blue Velvet (Lynch)
Broadway Danny Rose (Allen)
Wings of Desire (Wenders)
Down by Law (Jarmusch)
Time Bandits (Gilliam)
Once Upon a Time in America (Leone)
Stop Making Sense (Demme)
Permanent Vacation (Jarmusch)

If I wasn't allowed to have doubles by the same director, Ran and Do the Right Thing would have made it.

These are mostly the movies of my childhood, but I think most of them stand up to adult rewatches. I didn't watch a lot of the more adult-oriented movies until later, and they weren't able to break through the nostalgia wall.

Die Hard
Ghostbusters
Back to the Future
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Princess Bride
The Three Amigos
ET
Goonies
The Empire Strikes Back
Who Framed Roger Rabbit

I'm surprised Purple Rain is so low for you, Lament.

I will have to make this list. I'm almost positive Princess Bride would be my #1.

The top 5 on my list are pretty much interchangeable. I really like the 80's for movies.
