Pierce it. Flatten it. Then let it air dry as much as possible. Band-Aids on toes and the feet tend to fall off anyway, so I just don't bother anymore. Make sure you pat it dry and drain any new pus before you put on your work shoes for the day. Just take a good look once a day to make sure it's not infected.

Pierced, drained and in flip flops for the night. I am also going to try internal application of alcohol to help keep it dehydrated and sterilized.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

I'm running to my sister's house later and I have decided to barefoot again. This will only be my second non-grass or beach barefoot. Pictures of my bloody stumps to follow.

Why are you going barefoot?
I'm becoming a bit of a nancy in my old age. I used to have decent calluses, but they are no more. Also, barefooting strengthens your foot muscles and helps with balance. The North Kaibab Trail at Grand Canyon is fairly technical, so I'm working on my balance with core work and barefooting.

Gotcha
When i was much younger i pretty much lived barefoot, until i steped on a piece of barbed wire, ever since then i almost always have shoes on outside, so i know my feet are probably pretty weak, but it sucked having to get that thing ripped out of my foot, so id be too nervous to go far with out my shoes anymore
Didn't end up barefooting to my sister's house. Got a bad stomach a couple hours before I was supposed to leave and kinda knew it would be bonkcity. Didn't want to add tenderfoot issues to the pity party. Sure enough, after battling the porcelain demons for an hour I was on empty when I left and felt like shit from the get-go. I really felt like stopping about half-way through, but started my ultrashuffle instead. Felt better later in the day and the older nephews (16 and 18) and I ended up racing in 100-yard dashes.
Pretty much set myself up for the fall. Zero miles in the 10 days after my surgery, then 63 miles in a week. Probably not the brightest thing I have ever done, but after bailing on my marathon, I really want to make the GC run.
I haven't run in a couple of weeks, but i did tonight, started out for a 2 or 3 mile run, but realized pretty quick that i wasn't motivated for a longish run so at somewhere around .3 or .4 i bumped it up to 8 mph and finished at a mile. I have been thinking about trying to do some sprints and stuff to help me a bit in softball, not sure if short fast runs are the way to do it, but i still get winded if i have to run fast for a ball, but i recover fairly quick, i would like to get to where i can run for a few balls in each inning and not really get winded at all

I've never danced at a concert like I've danced at a Pearl Jam concert.
First outside run of the year. Oof. There is no substitute for actually hitting the pavement. 5 miles 8:40 pace. Ill take it. I coughed up a lung and im pretty certain left my nasal cavity somewhere on the road around mile 3.5
Good news - My legs felt pretty great. So the treadmill maintenance and yoga helped keep me at a respectable level.

I love running with my wife. But we always keep a much slower pace when we run together. I got out today for my first solo run in about a month. 10 mil/85 mins. PR.
This after a 12 miler yesterday. Feeling great, team.
What is your resting heart rate? Mine seems abnormally low at times and can dip into the upper 30's when I sleep I thought only Lance Armstrong had a heart rate in the 30's at rest.
Got in a rare Sunday afternoon workout yesterday after my usual Saturday morning one. A little sore this morning but definitely a good sore. Off day today then back at it Tuesday. Time to knock up the weights a tad too.
