I hope the description of the trailer and that GIF are fake. Would love to see social leveraged to throw us off and keep guessing....

BREAKING: 'The Force Awakens' Trailer to Debut this Weekend in Select Theaters
http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2014/ ... debut.html
After much speculation, it has been confirmed that the trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will debut this weekend, November 28, 29, and 30, in select Regal Cinemas this weekend. The theatre chain announced today that at theatres in nine US cities will feature the trailer in front of all movies playing. The lucky theatres are:
State City Theatre Name
CA Irvine Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX
CA San Diego Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
GA Atlanta Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
IL Chicago Regal City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX
NY New York Regal Union Square Stadium 14
PA Warrington Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22 & IMAX
TN Knoxville Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
TX Houston Edwards Houston Marq'E Stadium 23 IMAX & RPX
WA Seattle Regal Thornton Place Stadium 14 & IMAX
I have to say, this is an interesting way to debut the trailer. I would have thought Lucasfilm/Disney would want as many people to see it as possible, and this doesn't seem to accomplish that (and no, I'm not just jealous because my home town, Toronto, is not on the list!) Regardless, I think we are all extremely excited to see the trailer, hopefully it gets an online release this weekend as well!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015)
I wonder if they need anyone to see it. They could forgo a trailer and still break records.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Yeah at this point the only thing a trailer will do is bring a bunch of speculation and criticism from nerds.B wrote:I wonder if they need anyone to see it. They could forgo a trailer and still break records.

The most attention a trailer to an anticipated film gets is during the time right before everyone actually gets to see it. All they're doing is ramping up internet speculation...stoking the fires a little bit...because it keeps their media presence high and builds tension.

This thread is becoming entirely too high school boner for me.

today's ostensibly insightful mcparadigm message: movies are marketed before they are released
