Re: 2014 NFL Season
I can see why it was called. There was contact and the defender was completely out of control. Since he wasn't in control of his body, he couldn't make a play on the ball. No play on the ball + contact = interference.Iholdthepain wrote:Great catch, bs interference call, though.Fuck You Jobu wrote:Liked this version

Re: 2014 NFL Season
according to the rule, if the defender is looking back and trying to make a play on the ball, he has as much right to get into position as the receiver... but whatevs. It's the most difficult call to make in football, and Cowboys won anyway.Fuck You Jobu wrote:I can see why it was called. Since he was falling and never really that close to the ball - much less making a play on it, my guess would be that is why it was called.Iholdthepain wrote:according to the rule, if the defender is looking back and trying to make a play on the ball, he has as much right to get into position as the receiver... but whatevs. It's the most difficult call to make in football, and Cowboys won anyway.Fuck You Jobu wrote:I can see why it was called. True, but did he even touch the receiver, much less interfere? Looks iffy to me.Fuck You Jobu wrote:Since he was falling and never really that close to the ball - much less making a play on it, my guess would be that is why it was called.Iholdthepain wrote:according to the rule, if the defender is looking back and trying to make a play on the ball, he has as much right to get into position as the receiver... but whatevs. It's the most difficult call to make in football, and Cowboys won anyway.Fuck You Jobu wrote:I can see why it was called. It was actually a pretty accurate adjustment read on the ball if you look at where the ball was coming down... That Cowboys defender was in good position to catch the ball had the receiver not made a ridiculous reaching catch. Granted, the defender would have been out of bounds when he touched the ball.
The more I watch this clip, the more I think it should have been offensive interference, if anything. Beckham pretty much threw Carr down by the arm... which is why Carr was falling.

no offense, but what the hell are you watching? pass interference was called b/c the guy on the cowboys grabbed beckhams left arm before he fell. there was also no way the guy on the cowboys was gonna make a catch, unless you think he's gonna catch the ball in his facemask. #39 has his hand on the ground breaking his fall while beckham is leaping up for the ball.Iholdthepain wrote:True, but did he even touch the receiver, much less interfere? I'm a Cowboys fan and I thought it was pretty clear interference by Carr.
I really like the way the Cowboys have put together their offense this year. No one is playing over their head so you have guys like Beasley who can just sit back and make plays when their number is called. And we're seeing how good Romo can be when he consistenly has a lot of time to throw. It's good stuff.

God bless Richard Sherman and Doug Baldwin. One of the funniest and most on-point things I've ever seen.

None taken. I didn't think there was any way in hell ANY player would catch that ball... but Beckham did.
Still, looks to me like Beckham shoved Carr down by the arm more than the incidental contact Carr made.

I am thankful for that last pick Cutler just threw. Serves them right for running that play at all.
