You know what I don't want to read right now? A student's five-page paper on how awesome Titanic is. And yet, here I am.

From another paper: "The main character, Alex, and his best friend, Sammy, chug a bear as two girls enter the room and they have a mini party in their room."
My marginal comment was, of course: "A bear???"

I forget, did I tell y'all I was reading Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead? Well I am.
My favorite "review" on Goodbooks so far, "The whitest book I read this year, and I read The Marriage Plot."
Maggie has the gift, though. She can fucking write.

I was reading this Buzzfeed list, If You Like This Book By A Man, You’ll Love This Book By A Woman and thought to myself, I read plenty of female authors. Then I went to my book collection and realized all I had for female writers was The Fountainhead and a book of poetry I had to buy for a class (which I like and ended up keeping).
So my next book is going to be something by Annie Moore. Who are the best female authors out there?
