Re: MLB
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu DARVISH!
what a gem that almost was...
8 2/3rds perfecto, 14ks (which would have tied the most K's in a perfect game) 1 ball out of the infield! (course, it should be said, it was against the Houston AAA-stros)
I love that he pitches out of the stretch all the time... doesnt have to change his delivery at all if someone actually got on base.

Raymond, you son of a bitch!
Remy has been on this guy's case for years; there's finally a real reason to be.

Re: MLB
did anybody else really enjoy the dugout reaction to middlebrooks almost 4th HR?
i feel like last season, bobby-v would have told guys to sit down so that the camera's could show him on the top step.

what was the stat i saw the other day? 46 strike outs to 1 walk in the first 3 games?
and 14 more strike outs today!
thats 74 K's in 6 games
to 9 walks
a TEAM batting avg of .199
and a team obp of .234
I was gonna say I can still throw a pretty good knuckle... but after what R.A. Dickey did today...

R.A. looked like a deer in the headlights today. Guy is going to finnish with a 4.5 plus ERA this year....

I would feel worse about his start yesterday... but then I remember he's two starts into the season and was just as good as Price, Cain and Hamels yesterday.verb_to_trust wrote:R.A. looked like a deer in the headlights today. Guy is going to finnish with a 4.5 plus ERA this year....

Loved that reaction. I'm not going to lie, I love this team so far. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.elliseamos wrote:did anybody else really enjoy the dugout reaction to middlebrooks almost 4th HR?

Also, trading their best prospect for dickey and then giving him 25 beans is looking like a great deal by the jays so far.

I think two starts into the season is a bit early to make that call.numbers wrote:Loved that reaction. I'm not going to lie, I love this team so far. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.elliseamos wrote:did anybody else really enjoy the dugout reaction to middlebrooks almost 4th HR?

Re: MLB
If he werent a 38 year old knuckleballer with one great season, one decent season, and 15 years of mediocrity when at his best, sure, it would be. That trade/contract looked just as insane when they did it as it does now.

Re: MLB
unless he goes on to have a tremendous year after two bad starts. with all the things to talk about at this point in the season and this thread in general, this seems like a useless street to drive down.numbers wrote:If he werent a 38 year old knuckleballer with one great season, one decent season, and 15 years of mediocrity when at his best, sure, it would be. Re: MLB
He's had two very good season followed by one outstanding season. I don't see how the fact that he's a knuckleballer reflects negatively on his value.numbers wrote:If he werent a 38 year old knuckleballer with one great season, one decent season, and 15 years of mediocrity when at his best, sure, it would be.
