I read this morning that the WB's first choice is Oprah. :?

Her persona would make it difficult to see her as anything other than Oprah at this point. She was good in the Color Purple but that was 100 years ago.

Variety also mentioned that they're talking to Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer.

Viola Davis wouldn't be bad I guess.

I don't know the character. But she's a great actress. So, yeah. I wouldn't hate that call.

Also, do we think Jack Nicholson is on the phone to Leto yet?

I wish they'd use the actors from the various tv shows the characters have been on. Would be cool for some continuity.
Spoiler: show

For the record, Oprah is a pretty good actor and I don't have trouble seeing her disappear into a character. Have you guys seen The Butler?

I don't recall Joker ever being on that team so I don't really know how they'll play it but assuming they go with an extreme dark take on the Joker which is how he is normally portrayed now then they'll have to be creative to have him make sense in a team concept. Harley going off task mid-mission and freeing him thereby putting the rest of the team in a bind would be the most obvious way to go. Lex would make more sense but I am really curious to see how Leto does.

Or maybe Joker is the villain? Could that make sense?

Lee Daniels is certainly not an "Oscar bait" director (see Shadowboxer and The Paperboy). The Butler had that coating and marketing, but what's actually going on at its core is way more interesting and complex than that.

Sure why not I didn't think of that!
