I have no words. I get it, the guy is good at developing talent, but didn't a lot of Oregon State fans want him canned?

You could be a fan of anyone. Bama?
Clemson. They suffered 5 straight loses to the chickens of South Carolina, but last Saturday, finally won again. The overall series is still dominated by the Tigers, 66-42-4, but those were 5 long years. I have a feeling the tide has swung back in Clemson's favor, and they'll win next year too.

How do you feel about Chad Morris to SMU?
Outsider take....good fit.

Agree, I'm happy for Chad Morris, I hope he turns SMU around. Sad to see him go, but he have us 4 solid years, and it was fun to see him coach guys like Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, DeAndre Hopkins, and Andre Ellington. If he can get the talent, I have no doubt he'll be successful at SMU.

The ol' ball coach enters his 70s next year. I can't imagine he'll be coaching there much longer, and once that happens South Carolina will likely re-enter their typical place in the CF universe.

There are going to be some pissed off Beavers around these parts, including my tenant. Riley's always done a good job at Corvallis, and I think he could do the same at Lincoln. BRLB, your thoughts?
I am not thrilled about it. I really wanted Scott Frost (Oregon OC, Ex Huskers QB) to get the job. Played for Bill Walsh, Tom Osborne, Bill Parcells, Jon Gruden and has coached with Bill Snyder and Chip Kelly. He is a great recruiter (recruited Mariota to Oregon) as well. There are also TWO 4 star QBs currently on their depth chart that he recruited. I think he is ready. He is 39 though.

As for Riley...ugh. Seems like a good dude. The press love him and he is a nice guy but if this was a huge reason we hired him that is bullshit. I liked his press conference and I like his personality though. Coaches that do well here though have to roll with the punches. Bo could not do that. Riley is walking into a totally different environment here in Lincoln. Riley has done a good job considering where he was at (Oregon State) but nothing sexy about this hire. I was not expecting anything overly sexy but I'm not sure about how this fits. We wanted a guy to lead us to conference titles (we have not won one since 1999) and Riley never won one at Oregon State. Nebraska has struggled for 10-15 years against good teams. Riley is 14-41 against ranked teams all time. Riley will be 62 his first game as Huskers coach. Not 42 or 52. If he was 52 I'd be ok with this hire. But it sounds like we will be in this situation again sooner rather than later. Even if Riley does ok in 6-7 years he will be pushing 70s. Not many coaches go that long. This feels like a "win now" hire and if that is the case I'm not sure Riley is that guy. From 1962-1997 we had two football coaches (Bob Devaney and Osborne) and next season we will have our 4th head coach in 18 years. I really wanted to hire a guy who might be here for 10-15 (or more) years. Frost fits that mold and places will start calling him soon. He interviewed for the Boise State job last year. He is close with Bill Snyder and when he steps down at K State it would be a great fit for Frost. Colorado will open probably next year. Colorado State, Oregon State and UNLV are open now. You get the point. Frost has done a great job as an assistant at Oregon and developing Mariota and I don't want him to get a HC job somewhere else and never come back when we could of had him this week. :?

Riley is friends with Frost. There are rumors that Frost might be coming in as the OC and head coach in waiting but I don't see why he would do that even though Frost is as Husker as they come. Oregon is on solid ground right now and Nebraska has as many wins (83) as Iowa the last 10 years.....which is incredibly mediocre. I don't hate the Riley hire. Like 1-10 with 10 being super happy I'd say a 6-7. Thank God it's not Bret Bielema!! I'm cautiously optimistic about Riley if he hires a good staff and/or can get Frost on board.

Alabama plays a fundamentally sound brand of football in which they fumble a million times and somehow recover all of them. It's the Saban way!

If there's one team other than Michigan I love seeing Ohio State pummel it's Wisconsin.

I guess the way to limit the screwing being done is to leave both Baylor and TCU out to avoid this whole debate we've been having over them. It still sucks though because both of them are worthy enough.

Adding BYU and BSU would fix that easily.

Never forget it's about money and who gets it. Nothing more.

College Sports might as well be run by the mob

Decent non conference opponents outside of some huge monitary payout are completely dead.
