My wife rented Maleficent. I cannot begin to guess why movies feel the need to explain absolutely everything that could have been revealed in a story in a hurried voice over these days.

Angelina Jolie looks a hundred.

Yeah I enjoyed it..It flips from the wife being a put upon martyr to being the bad guy quite quickly..and scoots quickly over his 'transgression' but if that's how it happened fair enough.

Great performances all round. I'd watch it again.

The World's End - I expected to like it more than I did. On the plus side, Rosamund Pike :heartbeat:

Yeah, I'm not sure what to make of the ending either. It's an intriguing, stylish movie, but I'm not sure it really works as a whole.

Neighbors. I liked it okay, a few good chuckles and a couple unexpected cameos.

That Kevin Smith movie Tusk. Pretty bad, but I really enjoyed Johnny Depp's character, as well as the use of the Fleetwood Mac song during a pivotal scene.

The Croods. Formula crap, but the little monsters are neat, what with all the teeth and wings and such. My favorite are the whaleclams.

Happy Christmas. I really liked it. I've only seen it and Drinking Buddies (which I fucking LOVE) by Swanberg. Does he have anything else that's really worth checking out? I'm a big fan of his work/style, based on what I've seen.

I really want to see this. It's no longer in theaters and Kiwi films are exceedingly difficult to acquire illegally.

For some odd reason - they've chosen to only release this on DVD - unless the blu-ray is still coming, but at this stage all you can pick up is the DVD
