so how likely is it that images of bono after his accident make it into the show presentation? seems like something U2 would do.

That is the plan. Songs of Experience to come out in May. Tour is called iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour 2015, so having Songs of Experience out as an album you pay for sounds like the plan.
